E3: Microsoft & Bethesda Takeaways

E3 is officially kicked off and we got to see both Microsoft and Bethesda’s presentations. To be honest EA had a presentation Saturday but other than Anthem there isn’t anything to talk about. As for the Microsoft and Bethesda presentations I have listed my top takeaways below, enjoy.

Microsoft

Halo Infinate: Yes, Halo is back and Master Chief is on another mission. This time it seems like it will be bigger than ever. The reveal trailer didn’t have much but I have a feeling this game is going to be huge. Open world sandbox games are basically the norm nowadays (which isn’t a bad thing) and I could see Halo falling into that format. Here is the reveal trailer.

BattleToads: Not much was said about this upcoming reboot of the old arcade series but the trailer as minimal as it was, was enough. Having grown up on old school arcade beat em ups like Double Dragons, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Streets of Rage, and BattleToads I was pretty excited to see the announcement. Nothing was said other than its coming to Xbox in 2019. Check out the reveal below!

Devil May Cry 5: Oh yes! The sequel is here. So if you recall there were three Devil May Cry games with our main hero being the ever slick Dante then they made a fourth and this time Dante wasn’t the main character however, he did make a sizable appearance. This was a change for fans of the series like myself, but after a few stages we all realized this was a banger and after it was done, we wanted more. Well, check out the trailer below because we got what we asked for. The little bit of game play we are treated to looks as combo crazy as Devil May Cry has always been. Now, lets see if Nintendo drops a Bayonetta trailer.

Jump Force: This is the game that fits all categories for RogueShoganate as it is both Anime and Gaming and my personal favorite genre fighting! I am interested as to what the story will be considering they are taking a good number of characters from different animes and shoving them into New York City (just one of the stages). This is clearly another Jump:All Stars but perhaps with some differences from the past games. Check out the reveal below.

Gears of War: So after teasing us with the POP! version of Gears, they dropped a Gears of War 5 trailer. To keep it short and sweet, it looks good. The graphics look amazing and it seems that we will get a fresh story with some background baggage of our female protagonist. Check out the reveal.

Bethesda:

Ok, so Bethesda is dropping a new Elder Scrolls, an update to Elder Scrolls Online, and some Elder Scroll Mobile game. That’s all cool but the biggest drop they revealed was Fallout 76. It was no surprise that it is coming out and they even showed the trailer at the Microsoft presentation which was earlier in the day. The big takeaways from the reveal at Bethesda’s own presentation was that Fallout 76 will be bigger than ever and online all the time which means you will run into random players in your play-through, there will be PVP and some form of Co-op. This Fallout is a prequel to the series and thus at some point the bomb will drop. Oh! and apparently in the multi-player you can drop nukes on your enemies, chaos and mayhem will ensue. Check out the vid below.

Thats all I got so far! Sony and Nintendo both have presentations as well as the other game studios/ developers such as Square Enix.
