Beginner’s Guide To Anime

The anime community is growing at alarming rate. And with celebrities like Michael B Jordan and Kim K showing their inner Otaku the growth is more evident than ever. We have had ton of people say that they would like to get into Anime but don’t know exactly where to start. This Starter Kit is composed of great shows that are suitable for the newbies.

One Punch Man: Superhero/Comedy  – Saitama is bored of being a superhero because all the bad guys die in one punch.

Mob Psycho 100: Supernatural/Comedy  – Shigeo (nickname: Mob) is a boy with incredible psychic powers that become mega-destructive when he hits 100% frustration level.

The Devil is a Part-Timer!: Comedy/Fantasy  – Satan himself goes to work at a McDonald’s in modern day Tokyo.

Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood: Alchemy/Adventure – Edward and Alphonse Elric turn their mom into a zombie on accident.

Seven Deadly Sins: Adventure/Fantasy  – Meliodas and the Seven Deadly Sins protect Britannia from demons who try to pull all kinds of whack shit.

Soul Eater: Action/Fantasy  – Maka (girl) and Soul (literal Scythe) go ham on everyone in a Halloweentown universe. 

Death Note: Psychological/Thriller  – Yagami Light plays God with a book that fell from the sky that can kill anyone.

Code Geass: Mech/Fantasy/Psychological – Lelouch is dumb smart and fucks with everyone by using the Power of Kings.

Mirai Nikki: Phychological/Mystery/Thriller  – Battle royal in which the members posses a diary having unique features that gives it both advantages and disadvantages.

Gurren Lagann: Mech/Comedy/Drama  – Join Simon on his journey to fight the power and pierce the heavens in a big ass mech.

Kill la Kill: Action/Comedy/Drama  – Girls that wear almost nothing fight each other with scissors (but the clothes are magical).

Samurai Champloo: Action/Comedy/Drama  – Fuu enlists the help of a rogue and a ronin in order to find “the samurai who smells of sunflowers”.

My Hero Academia: Superhero  – Quirkless Midoriya aims to be the world’s greatest hero

Yu Yu Hakasho: Supernatural/Adventure  – Yusuke Urameshi is a thug (that gives people the hands) turned Spirit World Detective that trains hard (so he can give demons the hands, too).

Haikyu!!: Action/Comedy/Tournament  – Shōyō Hinata and Kageyama must team up after being middle school volleyball rivals

Made in Abyss: adventure/drama/fantasy –  Rico lives in the town of Ōsu on the edge of the Abyss.  Rico starts exploring the caves and discovers a robot who resembles a human boy.

Erased: Thriller/Fantasy/Mystery  – 29 year old Satoru goes back in time to elementary school and tries to smash his crush (while also trying to solve a murder mystery).

Steins;Gate: psychological/mystery/thriller –  Mad scientist Rintaro Okabe messes up the  past and must then try to find a way to return as close as possible to the original timeline in order to save his precious lab members.

Cowboy Bebop: Action/space-western/adventure – Spike Spiegel, a bounty Hunter with a dark past, lives on bounty to bounty. His partners help him in his adventures from planet to planet.

Trigun: Western/Adventure – Vash the Stampede, the man with the “60 Billion Double Dollar” bounty on his head, acts like an idiot while being an insane (maybe literally) gunfighter.

Rerouni Kenshin: swordplay/action/comedy – Himura Kenshin is a vagabond with a dark past and sunny disposition. He must fight off old hoes from his past to keep his new peaceful life.
